Heating Controls & Safe Isolation
Heating Systems & Controls plus Safe Electrical Isolation
Description
Course Overview:
This comprehensive course provides a solid foundation in basic electrical theory, with a strong emphasis on safe electrical isolation procedures and accurate testing using the correct equipment.
You’ll also explore key domestic central heating system design principles—including ‘S’ Plan, S Plan Plus, ‘Y’ Plan, and ‘W’ Plan configurations—and gain hands-on experience in the installation and operation of a wide range of central heating controls.
Participants will learn how to measure and interpret resistance readings, and how to wire a complete central heating system, incorporating components such as motorised valves, room thermostats, time and temperature controls, and pump overrun features (where required).
The course concludes with essential training in system commissioning and fault diagnosis, equipping you with the practical skills and knowledge to work safely and effectively in real-world scenarios.
At the end of this course, learners will receive the following certifications:
- Cert-ain - Safe Electrical Isolation
- CTG - Heating Controls Awareness
